Making Communities Empathetic to Animals & Birds

"I'm not saying that charity should be done commercially, but there should be a professional system for its execution. There should be SOPs, team management, and HR policies for it. When such a system is established, only then charity will gain popularity.
"

Episode 5, Season 1 of our podcast “Talk in the Town” features Mr. Mital Khetani, a passionate animal welfare advocate who has dedicated the past 18 years to improving the lives of animals through his NGO, Shree Karuna Foundation Trust (Animal Helpline). Based in Rajkot, this organisation is the largest in India to offer free on-site veterinary treatment, making a significant impact on animal care and rescue in the region.

During this conversation, Mr. Khetani shares his philosophy of fostering compassion through action. Rather than merely advocating for animal welfare, he believes in demonstrating effective methods—showing people how to care for animals instead of just telling them. His hands-on approach has not only inspired local communities but has also influenced the state government to implement similar initiatives on a larger scale.

Join us as we explore the story behind Shree Karuna Foundation Trust, learn about the transformative projects led by Mr. Khetani, and understand how leading by example can mobilise more people to support animal welfare.
